Polosak and Qureshi appointed to CA Under 18 National Championships Final

Qureshi and Polosak

Umpire appointments announced for the final day of the CA Under 18 National Championships

Congratulations to Claire Polosak and Muhammad Qureshi who are appointed to the CA Under 18 National Championships Grand Final today between New South Wales Metro and CA XI.

Polosak is a current member of the CA Development Umpire Panel and is standing in her fourth Under 18 tournament. Hailing from New South Wales, Polosak joined the Under 18 tournament directly after her appointment to the Commonwealth Bank Women’s International Series, where she made her Women’s One-Day International debut in Canberra. It’s been a busy season for Polosak already in 2016/17, with involvement throughout the Matador BBQ’s One-Day Cup; Toyota Futures League debut, and Governor General’s XI Tour Match. Polosak will now stand in the WNCL Final this Saturday in Brisbane before commencing Rebel WBBL|02 commitments in mid-December.

Standing in his second CA National Championships this season, Qureshi now calls Hobart home after relocating from Sydney two seasons ago. This move had an instant impact, being named the Tasmanian Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association Umpire of the Year in his first season. Qureshi also stood in the CA Under 17 National Championships in Brisbane throughout September, as well as a Toyota Futures League fixture, played at the same ground the final is being held at today.

The Final will be held at Kingston Twin Ovals from 10:00AM (local time). Three other games will be played around Hobart to close the Championships today, with appointments as follows:

  • Final: New South Wales Metro v CAXI at Kingston Twin Ovals | Claire Polosak and Muhammad Qureshi
  • ACT/NSW Country v Victoria at Lindisfarne Oval | Deanne Young and Ashlee Kovalevs
  • Queensland v Western Australia at TCA |  Darren Foster and Margaret Marshall
  • Tasmania v South Australia at New Town Oval | Greg Azzopardi and Jillian Shephard
