Community Coach of the Year - Darrel Forrest
Queensland’s Darrel Forrest was named the Community Cricket Coach of the Year, as Australian cricket’s community champions were honoured at the second annual A Sport for All Community Cricket Awards last week in Melbourne. The award acknowledges a coach who exemplifies coaching The Australian Way, and someone who has gone out of their way to make sure that participants are supported to develop both their skills and a lifelong love of cricket.

Can Former Athletes Be Taught How to Coach?

With little recourse to the skills that served them so well during their playing careers, they have often floundered when devising game plans and sending out others to do what seemingly came naturally to them.
