CA issue new helmet guidelines

Helmets

Any individual taking responsibility for players should take all reasonable steps to ensure that the guidance is followed.

CA recently issued a new set of helmet guidelines, that require all junior cricketers to wear helmets at all times while batting and wicket keeping up to the stumps.

For senior cricketers, the guidelines recommend that helmets be worn at all times while batting, wicket keeping up to the stumps and fielding in close.

More details on the helmet guidelines can be found in the Well Played document.

Coaches need to remember that in addition to facilitating fun and engaging cricketing experiences and developing skillful and adaptable cricketers, they also need to ensure the safety of players under their direction and care, and helmets are key to this.
